Every year, the network association for students and alumni “AlumniNet” organises a business trip. A group of members visits a graduate in a neighbouring country to be introduced to the company there. Once on site, we stay a little longer to get to know the city.
In 2023 we went to Austria to the beautiful city of Linz. For the trip from 30.09. – 03.10.2023, a varied programme was again put together.
Saturday, 30.09.2023
The jointly organised arrival took place on Saturday afternoon. After checking into our rooms (we could book a single room as well as a double/multiple room), we set off at 5 pm for a guided tour of the city (exclusively for our group). After that we finished the evening with a delicious burger.
Sunday, 01.10.2023
After breakfast together on Saturday morning, we took the Pöstlingbergbahn to the Grottenbahn (a MUST SEE in Linz) at 10.00 am. Afterwards we visited the famous museum Ars Electronica. We spent the evening in a cosy pub and as the end of the day we went to the Urfahranermarkt.
Monday, 02.10.2023
Monday was the highlight of our trip: We visited our alumnus at the company Wacker Neuson. He introduced us to the company as an employer and gave us an insight into his daily work and production. In the afternoon, we went on to the impressive Voestalpine steelworks, where our group was given a guided tour. When in Linz, a visit to Leberkas Pepi is a must, of course, which we did that evening.
Tuesday, 03.10.2023
After three days together in Linz, our business trip came to an end on Tuesday. All participants received the Linz Card, which was still valid on Tuesday and allowed access to many sights. So we could either leave or spend the day in the city.
The business trips of the AlumniNet networking association are a unique opportunity to network and make contacts in a pleasant atmosphere, and friendships have already developed over the years. We are pleased to welcome both familiar and new faces on our Business Trips. Students and alumni can take part; membership of the AlumniNet association is a prerequisite.
