Graduation Ceremony Deggendorf Institute of Technology on January 31st 2020
For all graduates who finished their studies in 2019, there was a new feature this year: the big graduation ceremony of DIT!
The graduates of 2019 were the first class to enjoy our newly designed graduation ceremony. The Alumni Office organised a big graduation ceremony for 31.01.2020 together with Master students of media technology. AlumniNet e.V. was also on site and dressed the graduates in style with a doctoral cap and gown for their big appearance. Each individual received “their special moment” and was bid farewell on the big stage by the Dean of the respective faculty and the President of the THD, Prof. Dr. Peter Sperber.
The celebration with more than 400 graduates and 1100 guests took place with all the pomp and glory one could wish for a graduation. We spared no expense and effort to prepare a special day for the graduates. The time distance to graduation also made this day a first reunion.
We were very happy to welcome so many graduates! Congratulations on passing your bachelor oder master’s degree and all the best for the future!
Graduation ceremony of the graduates of ECRI in Pfarrkirchen on 11.10.2019
In October another graduation ceremony for the graduates of the European Campus Rottal-Inn took place in Pfarrkirchen.
This time, a total of 42 graduates from the Master Medical Informatics, Master International Tourism Management, Bachelor International Tourism Management and Industrial Engineering courses were able to leave. Among the graduates was also the very first graduate of the Bachelor of Industrial Engineering. In addition to greetings from Edeltraud Plattner, representing the city of Pfarrkirchen and the district of Rottal-Inn, Dean Prof. Steckenbauer also welcomed the graduates. According to personal words of various professors, the graduates were allowed to step forward individually. Prof. Steckenbauer and the respective course coordinators presented them with a certificate and a rose. The celebration was also accompanied musically by an electric piano. The ceremony was followed by a pleasant get-together with a buffet and drinks, during which the graduates and their companions were able to review their studies.
We wish the graduates all the best for their future!
Farewell to ECRI’s graduates: second Graduation Ceremony in Pfarrkirchen
On March 22nd 2019 the second Graduation Ceremony for the graduates of the European Campus Rottal-Inn took place.
Altogether, 21 graduates of Master Medical Informatics, Master International Tourism Management and Bachelor International Tourism Management participated in the ceremony. They were welcomed by Pfarrkirchen’s mayor Wolfgang Beißmann, county commissioner Michael Fahmüller and ECRI’s dean Professor Steckenbauer. Following the welcome speeches each graduate was summoned to the stage to receive a hand shake and farewell by the professors and to get the decorative certificate for the successful completion of the study program. After some music the official part of the Graduation Ceremony came to an end and the graduates had the opportunity to enjoy the rest of the day with finger food and drinks.
We are proud of our ECRI Graduates and with them all the best for their start into the professional world!
First Graduates at Campus Rottal-Inn Pfarrkirchen
On December 7th the waiting had an end: the first graduates from European Campus Rottal-Inn had their big Graduation Celebration. The festivities took place at Altes Rathaus in Pfarrkirchen. Altogether, nine graduates from the master program Medical Informatics participated in the celebrations. They were all dressed in black cloaks and a mortaboard. Dressed up for this occasion in the traditional “Graduation Outfit”, they received their degree certificate, which was handed to them by the two academic leaders of the study programm Prof. Dr. Georgi Chaltikyan und Dekan Prof. Dr. Christian Steckenbauer. We are furthermore delighted that most of the graduates, which come from seven different countries, have found a job in Germany.
We wish the first graduates of ECRI all the best and we congratulate you all on your success!
Launch of the AlumniNet App
In the beginning of this semester AlumniNet launched its very own App.
The App is for members of AlumniNet only. It connects alumni and students. Furthermore, the App illustrates our network and users are listed in the app according to their study program or the company they are working at. This makes networking and communication among members much easier and more up to date. The App also acts as one single platform that combines events, news and contacts from DIT, ECRI and our alumni in one application.
With the launch of the AlumniNet App there was also a price competition with weekly prices and one main price in the end. The price competition was open to all users of the App. Prices were for example vouchers of Therme Erding, Semester-Beginner-Sets from the DIT shop and a Samsung Galaxy Tablet as the main price.
And these are the lucky winners:
register here for the AlumniNet App. Every member who downloads the app gets an AlumniNet Display Cleaner.
If you face any problems with the registration or the app, you’ll find a manual on how to install the app and how to use it here.

Dies Academicus 2018: foto shooting “throwing of doctoral caps”
Each year AlumniNet offers graduates to order a doctoral cap as a souvenir of their study period and their successful graduation from DIT. At the end of the Dies, all graduates with a doctoral cap are invited to come on stage for the famous “throwing of doctoral caps” foto shooting.
